Editor's NoteIn case you missed the first issue of Embellishments, it is now available at our website. We will continue to print copies of future issues, but we will rely increasingly on electronic distribution of this newsletter. How long will it be before all texts, including musical ones, are distributed exclusively in electronic form rather than printed? Will symphony orchestras and church choirs eventually be equipped with laptops scrolling music notation? Perhaps organists will no longer need to recruit page-turners. I suppose concert halls could even have interactive CD-ROMs built into the seats to offer audiences program notes, performer bios, texts and translations, and other distractions. Libraries would be superfluous once everything is retrodigitized. It's not too late to get your printed music here, while it lasts . . .
