Editor's Note

I hope that everyone attending the annual meeting of the American Musicological Society in Phoenix will visit our booth to see our new editions. It has been a good year for Recent Researches, with new publications from around the world, including Ethiopian Christian liturgical chant, Chinese zither music, music by women composers, motets by Orlando di Lasso, Mannheim ballet music, and Irish-American songs by Harrigan and Braham.

Plan to meet and talk with our president, Patrick Wall, and our editorial staff--David Birchler, Paul Ranzini, James Zychowicz, and myself. We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
