These 10 works, for various small groups of string and wind instruments,
are taken from the 16231 and 1629 volumes of Castello's Sonate concertate.
A follower of Gabrieli and a contemporary of Monteverdi, Castello was one
of the most innovative and respected instrumental composers of the early
seventeenth century.
