Recent Researches in the Music of the Baroque EraMelchior Franck
This collection, dating from 1631, consists of sacred concertos for one to three voices, concertos for tenor solo and five-voice chorus, and motets for four to eight voices. Of the 28 pieces, all except one ("Noe, Hodie Christus natus est") are set to German scripture or devotional poetry. As the title page asserts, most of the texts concern eternal life; the collection also includes Christmas and New Year compositions. See also B70. |
