All known manuscript versions of this important twelfth- and early thirteenth-century repertory were consulted in the preparation of this edition, which includes 30 conductus in the Wolfenbüttel fascicles, 10 contrafacta and 10 alternate readings.

Contents
There are thirty conductus in Manuscript Wolfenbüttel 1099 (W2). They are numbered in this edition from 1 to 30, in the left-hand column below, in order of their appearance in the manuscript. The small letters "a," "b," and so forth, following a number designate additional versions of a given piece: there may be a version from another manuscript; or there may be a second version from W2 itself, which illustrates a feasible alternate rhythm (see Preface, Editorial Procedures). The numbers and letters in the second column from the left are those used by Gordon Anderson in his conductus catalogue. The numbers in the third column are those used by Robert Falck in his catalogue. Both catalogues are listed in the Bibliography on p. 42 of Part I.
