Recent Researches in the Music of the Renaissance

Hoyoul, probably of Liègeois origin and certainly a student of Lasso, served at the court in Stuttgart during a period of transition from liturgical to worldly concerns. These 19 German motets, all but one in five parts, are outstanding examples of the works of this neglected composer.
