The Italian song “Fortuna desperata” inspired a rich collection of derivative pieces for almost seventy-five years after its composition. This edition includes all known ensemble settings (except masses), including the original song, si placet versions, replacement contratenor settings, secular cantus firmus compositions, liturgical and quasi-liturgical works, and pieces with Italian, French, German, and Latin texts.
